Karyn Glover, mother of Danny Glover, the late Bergenfield High School wrestling star who donated his liver to his former Little League coach, will discuss organ donations at 8:15 p.m. Monday, May 21, at St. John’s Council, 1345, Knights of Columbus, 61 Armour Place, Dumont.
She will talk about how her son’s life lives on in others through the donation of his organs.
Her presentation is free and open to the public.
Karyn Glover will recall how Danny had told her on the Thanksgiving Eve before his death that, if anything ever happened to him, he wanted his organs to be donated to help others.
"Mom," he had told her, "if I outlive you or you outlive me, I want to help people."
"Even your beautiful baby browns," his mother said she responded; and he answered, "Yes."
She said in written reflections that she did not realize then that she would have to follow through on her son’s wishes of being an organ and tissue donor so soon.
"On Jan. 30, 2012, Danny passed from this life," she said, "but not before giving the gift of life to so many others." his mother said.
