
It is a simple message: When you decide to become an organ donor, you save lives.
This is reiterated by a story right out of Philly. Paco Rodriquez was a young boxer who died after being knocked out in a fight at the Blue Horizon. Eight of his organs were donated.
ESPN followed his widow after she decided to meet some of the eight recipients. It was emotional and touching and shows what is means to be an organ donor.
This morning, Mike chatted with two women who know, first hand, the importance of organ donation.
Renee Freeman is with "Donors Are Heroes." Her husband Don received a donated heart. He is now healthy and thriving.
Cynthia London 's son Sipho Thembla, passed away in 1997 after a senseless shooting. His organs were donated to six others so they could have a second chance at life.
