People across the county have responded in their masses to a call for more people to join the NHS Organ Donor Register.
Since the launch of the Save a Life campaign by The Citizen at the end of January, 8,268 people have made the pledge for their organs to be made available after their death.
The response has been welcomed by Annette Gordon, who knows firsthand the life-changing impact a transplant can have. The 41-year-old, from Abbeydale, received a kidney in December 2005 after hers deteriorated due to lupus – a condition she was born with which affects the immune system.
