Gift of Life Donor Program Welcomes the 2011 American Transplant Congress
The American Transplant Congress will begin this weekend in our hometown of Philadelphia and we are looking forward to meeting and engaging with some of the most experienced transplant professionals in the world. We are also looking forward to a two events we have planned in conjunction with the Congress that will shed light on our practices, reunite our colleagues, and raise funds for Gift of Life Family House.
The 11th Joint Annual Meeting of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and theAmerican Society of Transplantation allows for transplant professionals from all over the world to discover and exchange new scientific and clinical information in organ and tissue transplantation. World-renowned speakers will be traveling from across the world to Philadelphia to learn about best practices through symposia, oral abstracts, poster presentations and specialized group sessions. Two of these presenters will represent Gift of Life Donor Program — our Vice President of Clinical Services, Richard Hasz, will present “Evaluating the Donor Pool: How Many Potential Donors Are There Really?” and our CEO and President Howard Nathan will be a moderator on the panel: “Emerging Practices to Improve Donation and Transplantation Outcomes.”
Attendees are also invited to join us for a tour of the GLDP facilities on Saturday, April 30th. The guided tour will offer insight into the daily work of our organization and how we have evolved to become a world leader over the last 36 years. Tickets for this event are $15. Both transportation from the Convention Center and lunch will be provided.
Later that evening, The Greater Delaware Valley Transplant Reunion will take place at the Philadelphia Marriot Hotel. Honoring all past and present transplant professionals the program includes a special tribute to Howard M. Nathan, Dr. Clyde Barker, and Dr. Aaron Bannett. The evening will be filled with dinner, dancing, memories, prizes and a silent auction. All proceeds from this event will benefit Gift of Life Family HouseClick here for ticketing information. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
